These checklists can be viewed and/or printed to assist the investigators with types of containment issues appropriate to work in BL1, BL2 and BL3 facilities.

Waste Disposal
|
Cultures of infectious agents, mammalian cell lines, and sharps and non-sharps items in contact with infectious materials (e.g., gloves, plastic ware, hypodermic syringes and needles) must be disposed as Regulated Medical Waste. Sample SOP's (Biohazardous Material)
|
Investigators working with infectious or biohazardous materials, or using high risk procedures (centrifugation, sharps, aerosol generating procedures) should develop and implement standard operating procedures. Sample procedures for guidance are provided.

Chemical Hygiene Plan
|
Investigators are responsible for developing/implementing a Chemical Hygiene Plan to address the use, storage and handling of chemical hazardous materials. Guidance about special hazards posed by toxic chemicals, carcinogens, mutagens/teratogens used in research. http://www.ehs.cornell.edu/.
